Under 14s
1/8 v Beenleigh
Our young Leopards took on Beenleigh on Sunday in a match that we really had to win. Unfortunately, we could not match Beenleigh's committment to the football and as a result were defeated on the day by a much more determined team. We will need to lift guys if we are to have any chance of being a real contender for the flag this season. We are still of the beleif that you can win this competition boys, you now need to show us what you are capable of and have a red hot go! We've all seen the type of football you can play, and when you do, you do it very well. Unfortunately, Sunday was not an example of this. Once again, you all did some things very well, it just wasn't a consistent performance. Bradley, Jakey, James and Matty were amongst our better performers, well done guys! OK, lets ALL get to training Thursday so we can focus on Kenmore this weekend. We've come down to a must win situation now guys, let's perform to our potential!

Cheers again to all the helpers on the day, always appreciated and we'll see you at my place Tuesday.

25/7 v Ipswich
On a big day for the club, our Young Leopards had a great challenge against a great competitor in Ipswich. With both teams winning away from home during the season, it was always going to be a tough game for both teams. Our Leopards came out in the first quarter really fired up and got the early advantage on Ipswich by keeping them goalless and slotting a couple of goals themselves. Unfortunately, some disciplinary issues late in the last quarter and early in the second seen us on the backfoot and really chasing for the rest of the game.
We actually played very well, but we just couldnt get the ball moving foward often enough to apply the pressure to Ipswich that we did last time we met.
We had the boys pupmed up for the third quarter and stepped our Gun fullback, Basket, to centre half back to bring him into the game as he was simply outstanding on the last line of defence. In a terrible blow to Daniel and the Club, hel heavily collided with an Ipswich boy which seen him with a broken collar bone and out for the season. The entire Club wishes him all the best for a speedy recovery. Daniel's overall team committment and high level standard of play will certainly be missed. All the best Daniel, we'll see you around the Club! In another incident, one of Ipswich's boys collided with one of our boys and suffered a neck injury. Ironically, Daniel and "Shorty" (from Ipswich) were next to each other at the hospital and Shorty and discharged home with no serious injury, which was very good to hear.
The boys now have a great challenge ahead of them as we really start to analyse the final four. Beenleigh, Kedron and Zillmere for the final three, in which we will be gunning to win all of them!
Once again, some of the guys really stood up today, Gabe, who played his best game for the season was in brilliant form and Lachy Healey who also kicked a couple of goals, was really annoying their backline with great crumbing play. Daniel, Sammy, Logan, Pete and Matty also played extremely well. But really, all the boys put in on a very trying day.
A big thank you must go to our First aiders in Robyn Malouf, Shelby ollerenshaw and Katrina Magee. It was an amzing day with three ambulances required. Their professionalism was outstanding and it was not only our 14's, but 3 or 4 other incidents during the Under 16's as well.

Thanks again everyone and see you at training on Tuesday!
