Secretary Report - Trophy Day - 2005

Firstly I want to thank Michelle Conlon for the great job she has done over the past few years as club secretary. Her groundwork made stepping into the role that much easier. The committee has worked hard this year and their major goal was to be debt free and all outstanding money on the building to be paid off. We achieved this and we did it about 6 months ahead of schedule. I personally want to thank all those involved in this great achievement. With the building now completely paid for we can move onto our next projects to keep our club as one of the biggest and best clubs in the Brisbane Juniors.

Football wise we have continued to improve with the expansion of the Football operations sub committee and plans in place for further policy refinement re skills development within the club for next year. I look forward to seeing the new committee formed at the AGM continuing the great work done by the previous 5 years worth of committee people, but it really is time for some fresh blood. Please stick your hand up and help to continue the development of this great club.

Secretary Report - Trophy Day - 2004

Another year over and boy what a year it has been. Firstly we started the year with a record number of kids. We had the most teams we have ever had, in fact I believe we had the most amount of under 8 teams in the competition, it was great to see all age groups covered. It can only mean that we will continue to grow from here. Every week was a buzz at the oval, it was so good to see.

The new clubhouse took a lot of effort from a vast amount of people but it got there and looks fantastic now we can start building a history for the club and be able to look back and remember the good times we have had.

I believe if we can get more parents involved we can make this into one of the best clubs ever. It only takes a little of your time to help spread the load more evenly and make it enjoyable for both parents and children. To all the helpers we did have this year a very BIG THANK YOU.

I was very impressed with the senior boys who were there every Saturday morning to either help set up, umpire or cook virtually whatever was required of them. I believe this reflects fantastically on the club if these boys are the type of kids we are putting through.

Also the few girls who are sisters of kids playing, every week they were there eager as ever to do whatever they could to help. It is these things that make me proud to be involved with the Leopards.

Take care until next season,

Michelle Conlon
