The 2024 season was the first of the rebuild for the club focusing on Junior Football. The Calamvale Leopards have fielded an Under 10’s, Under 9’s and three Under 8 teams.

 

The Auskick program is a great skills-based introduction to the game and with forty-nine participants this year it looks promising for future years of the club.

 

The Superstars program introduced eighteen of our Auskickers to an 8-week game-based program which will hopefully see them return as Under 8’s in 2025.

 

I would like to thank the Committee, most of which were new to their roles with the club, for continuing to help where required all the while constantly learning. Our club could not be without our Coaches and Managers who have all done a fantastic job this season ensuring our teams were well prepared to hit the field.

 

For those volunteers who helped around the club and filled the game day roles of First Aid, Ground Marshal, Goal Umpire and Timekeeper we really do appreciate your help. The games cannot go ahead without our parents offering their help to the Team Managers.

 

We started the year with only two umpires Stephanie and Natalie Chai and throughout the season managed to build our Club Umpire team to four with the addition of Sophie Kelty and Lachlan Mane. We really appreciate our team of umpires. We hope they stay with us well into the future.

 

We managed to have a year with no cancelled games and all bye rounds were eliminated through organizing games with teams also on byes in other Brisbane competitions.

I really hope everyone has enjoyed being part of the Leopards in 2024 and we are really looking forward to seeing you return for the 2025 season and beyond!
